In a significant stride towards sustainable energy, Australia is set to witness the emergence of its largest wind farm to date – the Golden Plains Wind Farm.  This state-significant project is poised to power over 765,000 homes, marking a monumental leap in the country’s renewable energy landscape. With a budget exceeding $3 billion, the Golden Plains Wind Farm stands as a beacon of clean energy advancement not only for Victoria but for the entirety of Australia.

Commencing construction in the first quarter of 2023, the Golden Plains Wind Farm – East segment is slated to become a prominent feature on the horizon. With plans to incorporate 122 turbines, this phase of the project represents a significant step towards harnessing wind power on a massive scale. Currently, the project is under the ownership of Ingka Group and TagEnergy, two key players in the renewable energy sector.

Notably, the Golden Plains Wind Farm encompasses not just one, but two major segments. The Golden Plains Wind Farm – West, owned by WestWind Energy, is anticipated to commence construction in 2024.
