Wallie van Hoving
As President of Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd since January 2023, Wallie van Hoving has led the organization towards unprecedented growth and success through strategic leadership and operational excellence.
In September 2017, he accepted the role of Vice President. In this capacity, he took charge of planning, directing, and coordinating all operational aspects, with a keen focus on enhancing performance, productivity, and profitability. By implementing effective methods and strategies, Wallie ensured the continuous improvement of our operations, driving the company towards greater efficiency and success.
His extensive expertise is further underscored by his accreditations as a Fellow of Engineers Australia (FIEAust), Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), Engineering Executive (EngExec), National Engineering Register (NER), APEC Engineer, B Eng Electrical Engineering, B Eng (Hons) Technology Management and International Professional Engineer IntPE(Aus).
Prior to his role as Vice President, Wallie served as Regional Manager from May 2015 to September 2017. During this time, he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s market presence, driving revenue growth, and fostering enduring client relationships. Through meticulous project management and adherence to quality standards, Wallie ensured the timely delivery of projects within budget, consistently exceeding customer expectations.
His tenure as Engineering Manager (NSW) from October 2014 to May 2015 laid the foundation for subsequent leadership roles. By actively engaging in business development and fostering a culture of innovation, Wallie spearheaded initiatives to streamline engineering processes, minimize rework, and enhance overall efficiency. He prioritised client satisfaction by serving as the primary point of contact for engineering services, delivering exemplary support and exceeding client expectations.
Throughout his career, Wallie has continued to be committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance with legal and engineering requirements. He has played a key role in shaping the organisational culture, fostering a climate of high performance, responsibility, and accountability.
As President, Wallie continues to lead Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd with a vision for innovation, growth, and excellence. His dedication to driving operational efficiency and fostering client relationships positions the company for continued success and prominence in the industry.
Steve Ford
Steve Ford is the Chief Operating Officer, leading the safe and successful delivery of our projects throughout Australia.
With a wealth of experience spanning 30 years, Steve has a demonstrated capability across the entire project lifecycle. His responsibilities encompass client management, bid management, project management, site delivery, and overall business operations.
With a Master of Project Management (MPM) degree, Certified Practicing Project Manager (CPPM) accreditation, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Certificate IV in Industrial Electronics, and an Electrical Trade qualification under his belt, Steve brings a strong skill set to meet the demands of our projects.
Chris Connell
Chris Connell, serving as the Vice President, Business Development and Marketing at CPP, boasts an impressive career spanning 35 years within the electricity industry, both in Australia and abroad, notably in the United States.
Chris’ proficiency extends across a spectrum of specialist areas, including business development, customer relationship management, sales management, business strategy, commercial management, and marketing. This breadth of expertise equips him with the insight and acumen to drive strategic initiatives and foster growth within CPP.
Throughout his career, Chris has collaborated with utilities, manufacturers, and renewable energy developers, establishing himself as a trusted figure in the field. His expertise lies in leading multi-disciplined teams, particularly in bid director roles for large-scale utility and renewable energy projects.
With a professional journey marked by notable achievements, Chris’s employment history reflects his commitment to excellence and leadership. From his current role as Vice President at CPP to previous positions at Quanta Lines, Ventia Utility Services, and Zinfra Group, Chris has consistently delivered exceptional results.

Eric Winn
With over three decades of experience in the HV Power Industry focusing on Transmission and Distribution Systems for utilities, Eric Winn, Vice President of Engineering at Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd, brings a wealth of expertise to the table.
Eric specialises in Protection Design for EHV, HV, and MV electrical installations, and has extensive experience in Project Engineering and Project Management. His leadership has been crucial in driving many major projects to success for CPP.
His professional qualifications include an M Tech Eng in Electrical Engineering, alongside accreditation as FIEAust CPEng EngExec NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus). Having commenced his tenure at Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd in July 2004, he has held pivotal roles, including Vice President (Engineering) and Engineering Manager, where he oversaw Substation engineering and design ranging from 3.3kV to 500kV.
Prior to joining Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd, Eric served as a Lead Engineer/Consultant at General Electric Power Systems (GE) Europe in the United Kingdom, where he was involved in the design and construction of National Grid (UK) Transmission substation secondary systems (275, 400kV).
His extensive experience also includes a significant tenure at ESKOM Transmission & Distribution in South Africa from January 1989 to May 2003. During this time, Eric held various roles, including Chief Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Design Engineer, and Commissioning Engineer, specializing in power system protection and control design for HV and EHV secondary equipment.
Throughout his career journey, he has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a passion for driving innovation in the field of engineering, making him a highly respected figure in the industry.
Dan Nelson
With over two decades of experience in Human Resource Management, Dan is a strategic leader in the field, currently serving as the Head of People, Culture and Communications at Consolidated Power Projects in Adelaide.
His expertise spans a range of specialist areas, including recruitment and workforce planning, employee and industrial relations, organisation development, leadership and culture, talent and succession, diversity and inclusion, training and competency, communications, and community and stakeholder relations.
Throughout his career, Dan has demonstrated a commitment to delivering outstanding business results across various industries including Mining, Manufacturing, Rail, and Energy. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Health and Social Science, with a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. Dan continues to make significant contributions to the field of Human Resource Management, shaping the future of workplaces with his expertise and leadership.
Rachel Cain
Rachel Cain brings to the table a wealth of expertise garnered over 15 years of experience as a Lawyer, and is currently the Head of Commercial and Legal for Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd (CPP).
Specialising in construction and property law, Rachel holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, complemented by a Bachelor of Environmental Studies, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.
Her career trajectory showcases a progression through various esteemed positions, including roles as a Lawyer at Finlaysons from December 2008 to February 2012, and as a Senior Lawyer at Clayton Utz from March 2012 to August 2016. Since November 2018, Rachel has served as the Head of Commercial and Legal at CPP.
Throughout her career, Rachel has been instrumental in handling a diverse range of non-contentious and contentious legal matters. Her expertise in non-contentious matters includes tendering, contract negotiations, procurement, and providing commercial and legal support for delivery of significant projects across Australia, including battery energy storage systems, wind farms, and solar farms.
In her time at CPP, this has included establishing CPP on various panel agreements and negotiating CPP’s contract for the Waratah Super Battery. In the realm of contentious matters, Rachel has provided strategic advice on dispute avoidance and resolution, prepared adjudication applications and responses under security of payment legislation and represented clients in mediations and expert determinations.
Rachel’s impressive portfolio includes acting for TSX-listed intermediate gold producers, government entities, and national construction and mining services companies, underscoring her versatility and proficiency in handling diverse legal matters.
Rachel’s understanding of renewable and utility projects and clients, combined with her legal experience, allows her to provide trusted commercial and legal advice on all aspects of CPP’s operations, contributing significantly to the success and growth of CPP.
Adam Lonardo
Adam Lonardo is a finance professional with over two decades of experience mainly in the Energy and Mining sectors, currently serving as the Head of Finance for Consolidated Power Projects. With a diverse background that encompasses commerce and auditing across various entity types, including private and public companies across multiple industries, Adam brings a wealth of expertise to his role.
In his capacity at Consolidated Power Projects, Adam has played a pivotal role in several major projects, including the Hornsdale Power Reserve, Western Downs Solar, Project Energy Connect, Golden Plains Wind Farm, and Waratah Super Battery.
Adam’s areas of expertise are extensive, covering finance, corporate governance, risk management, compliance, financial statements and reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, business performance, analysis, and measurement. His experience also extends across diversified industries like mining, manufacturing, engineering, and construction.
Adam holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Chartered Accountant, underscoring his strong academic and professional credentials. Adam’s career includes working as an Auditor at Grant Thornton and Accountant at Rex Minerals Ltd.
Adam has served as the Head of Finance at Consolidated Power Projects, where his leadership and expertise have been instrumental in driving financial success and strategic growth for the organisation. Throughout his career, Adam has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, innovation, and integrity, making him a respected figure within the industry.
Carl Hogg
With over two decades of experience in Safety, Quality, Health and Environmental management, Carl Hogg now serves as the Head of Health, Safety and Environment at Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd, based in Adelaide.
Carl is a seasoned professional with a broad spectrum of expertise, specialising in WHSEQ Systems Development, Federal Safety Commission, Risk Management, and Organisational Change & Culture Development. Carl has also developed a passion for Human Organisational Performance (HOP) and Learning Teams, collaborating with leaders in these areas to integrate these approaches into CPP. His professional qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management, ICAM certification, Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator accreditation, and proficiency in Internal Auditing.
His career journey spans across various prestigious roles, beginning as an OHS Advisor at ETSA Utilities in June 1997, and advancing to positions of increasing responsibility and impact, including roles at Woolworths Limited, Origin Energy, Leed Engineering & Construction, McConnell Dowell, and now Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd.
In his current role as HSE Manager, Carl oversees the coordination of safety team activities, prepares monthly reports for the board, and spearheads the review and simplification of the management system. He is instrumental in the development and implementation of the Strategic WHS Plan, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
Throughout his career, Carl has led the development and implementation of safety strategies for numerous high-profile projects and organisations. At Leed Engineering; Construction, he played a pivotal role in the successful execution of projects such as the Mildura Water Modernisation Project, Urban Superway, Orange Pipeline, and Meningie Lakes. His tenure at Origin Energy involved national-level safety strategy development for the generation division, while at McConnell Dowell, he contributed to the $160M Obahn Extension project.
Carl’s dedication to safety and quality extends beyond project-specific roles. He has consistently provided expert advice, guidance, and support to organisations in developing and implementing effective safety strategies and systems. From assisting in WorkCover audits to providing training and advisory services, Carl has been an invaluable asset in fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
With a proven track record of delivering results and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality, Carl Hogg continues to make significant contributions to the success and growth of CPP.
Duncan Howie
Duncan is an experienced professional with over 30 years in engineering and infrastructure project management. In that time, he has covered a wide range of sectors including energy, water, mining and the chemical industry and has worked across Australia, the UK, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Duncan is a qualified Chemical Engineer, a proud member of Engineers Australia and is now applying his management experience in his current role with CPP as Regional Manager for South Australia and Renewables. In that role, Duncan’s passion is to ensure that CPP continue to build on their track record of excellence and certainty of delivery in high voltage infrastructure projects, wind farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Some of the notable projects recently delivered by Duncan’s team include the Golden Plains Wind Farm Stage 1, Project Energy Connect (SA) and the Golden Plains Connection Works for AusNet.
Andrew Timms
Andrew Timms is an experienced Regional Manager for the QLD division of CPP, overseeing project governance, vendor and contract management, strategy development, risk analysis, financial management, and relationship management.
He holds a Master of Business Administration, a Diploma of Project Management, and a Bachelor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, supported by postgraduate certificates and an electrical trades certification.
His career trajectory includes Project Manager at UGL and Development Engineer at Powerlink Queensland. Major projects include the Hill-to-Hill transmission line, various renewable energy projects, and significant infrastructure expansions for QGC, Powerlink Queensland, and Aurizon.
Abdul Dabaja
Abdul Dabaja is a highly experienced professional with 17 years of expertise in General, Program, and Project Management within the energy sector. He has a strong educational background with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), along with a Project Management Diploma and an Advanced Diploma in Electrical Technology.
Throughout his career, Abdul has held various high-profile roles that refined his expertise in overseeing large-scale and complex projects. At Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd, he has notably served as Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, and is currently the Regional Manager (NSW). In these positions, he has successfully led teams and managed significant, intricate projects.
Abdul’s leadership has been instrumental in the delivery of major infrastructure projects across New South Wales, particularly in the energy sector. His portfolio includes high-profile projects such as the development of advanced Battery Storage Systems, Grid Connections, and Substations. These projects are critical components of the state’s energy infrastructure, supporting the transition to more sustainable energy sources and enhancing the reliability of the power grid.
Darren Gorman
Darren Gorman is an accomplished Regional Manager with extensive experience in the energy and utilities sector. With a Diploma in Business Management and a Certificate III in Linework, Darren has a proven track record of leading teams to achieve business objectives and deliver high-quality projects. From December 2014 to November 2022, he managed operations for Zinfra across Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia, overseeing safety leadership, project performance, and financial management.
Notable achievements include delivering major projects such as the $150 million Edison Project for AusNet Services, successfully expanding the business into new regions, and introducing over 40 apprentices to the electrical industry. Darren’s career also includes roles in contract management and supervisory positions, demonstrating his strong capability in resource management, client engagement, and team development.
Simon Flanagan
Simon Flanagan is an accomplished executive with a strong background in operations management, project delivery, and strategic partnerships. With extensive experience in driving operational improvements and managing multi-million dollar projects, Simon has successfully led teams across Australia and the UK, delivering significant business outcomes and enhancing client satisfaction.
His leadership roles at Consolidated Power Projects and Zinfra highlight his proficiency in growing businesses, integrating teams, and improving safety performance. Simon’s strategic acumen is evident from his work with CitiPower and Powercor, where he spearheaded transformative initiatives and achieved remarkable financial and operational outcomes. Holding an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce, he is a seasoned leader known for his ability to inspire teams, build strategic alliances, and drive business success.
Lloyd Bentley
Lloyd Bentley has over 26 years of experience in the high voltage industry. He specialises in business management, leadership, project management of substations, solar farms, wind farms, and large-scale battery storage, as well as customer relations, site supervision, procurement and contractor management.
Lloyd is tasked with providing strategic leadership and oversight for the CPI team, including the management of design document acceptance, resource allocation, and the supervision of production activities such as panel assembly and testing.
His qualifications include AFIEAust CEngA EngExec NER IntETn (Aus), a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, a Certificate IV in WHS, credentials in multiple trades, and certifications in project management and leadership.
He has led many significant projects for CPP that are the first of its kind, including the Hornsdale Battery Energy Storage System, Nyngan Solar Farm, ESCRI, various wind farm developments, and multiple substation upgrades across Australia.
His past roles include Regional Manager of SA/VIC, Program Manager of SA/VIC, Construction Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Site Engineer, Engineering artisan where he managed substantial projects and contributed to major expansions and improvements in the energy sector.
Scott Stedall
Scott Stedall is the Manager of CPP Civil at Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd in Adelaide, bringing 23 years of experience in civil construction and project management. He has expertise in advanced project management practices, tendering, contract negotiation, technical aspects of civil construction, and health, safety, and environmental standards.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering and is a Project Management Professional (PMP). His notable projects include the construction of the 330/275kV Bundey Substation for Project Energy Connect, various wind farms across Victoria, the Hornsdale Battery Energy Storage System, and several other major wind farm and transmission line projects in South Australia and Tasmania.
Dilhan Perera
Dilhan Perera, based in Melbourne, Victoria, is an accomplished PMO Leader and Project Controls Manager with 25 years of experience across major projects, project controls, and program management.
Currently, Dilhan leads the development and implementation of a standardised project management framework at Consolidated Power Projects (CPP), where he oversees the Procurement, Planning & Scheduling, Quality Management, and Project Services functions. His extensive background spans diverse sectors including utilities, infrastructure, and natural resources, reflecting a deep expertise in driving project excellence.
His previous experience includes leadership positions across North America and Australia with Victoria’s Big Build, Fortis Energy, Vancouver Airport Authority, BC Hydro, Turner & Townsend, BHP, and Chevron.
Sean Dunn
With more than 20 years of experience, Sean is a seasoned Professional Engineer and Project Management Professional, with a successful track record leading complex projects and technical teams. Currently, as the General Manager for Transmission Lines at CPP, he oversees a team of over 50 people, managing P&L responsibilities and delivering high-profile projects across Australia.
Sean recently contributed to Quanta Service’s post-Hurricane reconstruction efforts in Puerto Rico, showcasing his expertise in operations, engineering and project management under challenging conditions. Previous roles include leading projects and operations across Quanta operating units in Canada, Europe, Australia and the Caribbean. He also helped deliver some of the largest transmission projects in North America as part of the team at Valard Construction.
Sean’s diverse background spans international assignments, including significant contributions to the Canadian Armed Forces while deployed in Afghanistan. He holds multiple professional qualifications and has demonstrated exceptional leadership in both technical and strategic capacities.
Cameron Sharpe
Cameron Sharpe is an experienced Asset Services Manager with over 20 years in the field, specialising in strategy development, contract management, risk analysis, and customer relations within electrical and electronic engineering.
He holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales and an MBA from the University of Queensland. His recent roles include Pre-Contracts Manager and Project Development Manager at Downer EDI Limited, and he has also worked as an Estimator at Consolidated Power Projects Pty Ltd and a Senior Techno/Commercial Engineer at Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Pty Ltd.
Cameron has managed significant projects such as the South Australian Green Hydrogen project, various substation and transmission line contracts across Australia, and the establishment of Australia’s first Static Frequency Converter Substation.
