At the heart of everything we do are our people, our greatest asset. At CPP, we strive for excellence. Our recruitment and selection processes are designed to support our pursuit of the best available talent, who embrace our diverse and inclusive culture and want to succeed in an environment where all employees are valued, supported and recognised for their contributions.
Our application process is quick and simple. All you will need is to submit an updated version of your CV, and in some cases for senior level roles, a written cover letter.
The first stage of our interviewing process is an introductory call with one of our in-house talent specialists. Here we will further explore your experience and suitability for the role you have applied for.
In this step we will share with you some more information about our company and the role, and in return have you tell us more about yourself and why you are looking for a new challenge.
This is where you will be making your first impression on the company, so make sure you are prepared for a call and communicate professionally.
If your application is shortlisted after the screening call, you will be invited to attend an interview with us either face-to-face or online. This is where you will meet with panel members and be asked both technical and behavioural questions.
Applying for a job isn’t something we do every day, and interviews can be stressful, so come prepared by doing a little research on CPP, what we do, and note down some questions for the interviewers.
Make sure to share positive examples throughout the interview and how you have made an impact in your previous roles.
This will help you provide the interview panel with a clear and structured response to the situation you are describing, and how you contributed to it.
You can do this by using the ‘STAR’ method to structure your answers effectively, which involves describing the Situation, Task, Action and Result.
Reference checking
We will make contact with two of your references if your application progresses beyond the interview stage. These will need to be two managers who you have reported to at some point in your career, the more recent the better. We will of course let you know if we will be making contact with your references so you can ensure they are prepared for our call.
Your references should be people who you have worked closely with and who can comment on your responsibilities, strengths and achievements.
Pre-employment medical
For all site-based roles, you will be required to attend a Functional Capacity Medical Assessment, which will include a Drug & Alcohol screening with an independent medical provider. Your safety is our highest priority, so it’s important to ensure you meet the physical requirements of our field based positions, which can include working extended rosters away.
Documentation
You may also be required to provide us with 100 points of ID (including a copy of your passport) and evidence of any qualifications, tickets, or licences you may have pertaining to the role. Some roles (e.g., finance) may require a National Police Clearance.
Moving quickly will form a great impression and shows you are excited for the opportunity!
It’s crucial you return your documents and organise a medical (if required) as quickly as possible, as this allows us to move quicker with your application.
If you are our preferred candidate after each of the stages in our recruitment process, we will call you to make an exciting offer of employment with our company!
This is where the onboarding process will commence, and we will have a formal offer of employment sent to you along with your new employee documentation.
