CPP Senior Project Manager Osama Sader reflects on his part delivering Akaysha Energy’s Orana BESS — one of the largest battery energy storage projects in the country.

Now energised and operating, Orana was the result of close collaboration from early planning and design in 2024 right through to energisation — with Akaysha Energy bringing together Consolidated Power Projects, Tesla Energy, Transgrid and numerous consultants and subcontractors. Through every challenge, our teams pulled together, with a constant focus on safety, quality and stakeholder collaboration.

Delivering one of the country’s largest Battery Energy Storage Systems has been a rewarding journey — made all the more meaningful knowing Orana will play a key role in supporting the transition to renewable energy.
