MATES in Construction General Awareness Training (GAT)

Our latest MATES in Construction General Awareness Training (GAT) session saw our biggest turnout yet, with nearly 80 people taking part.

From that group, 27 volunteers stepped forward to become MATES Connectors, undertaking additional training so they can:
✅ Be there for their MATES
✅Recognise when someone might be doing it tough
✅Provide initial support
✅Connect them to professional help and resources

That willingness to step up for one another is what makes a real difference. Creating safer workplaces isn’t just about physical safety — it’s about psychological safety too.

Thank you to everyone who participated and especially to those who volunteered to become Connectors. Together, we’re building a culture where looking out for your MATE is just part of what we do.
