Apprenticeships to many who have progressed through the program and gone on to have sustained careers within CPP and the Electrical Industry.
The Dave Evans Apprenticeship Program has been named in recognition of Dave Evans, a former CPP employee. Dave was employed by CPP for 18 years and held roles as a Project Manager, Construction Manager, Regional Manager, Operations Manager and CPP’s President, before taking up the role of Chief Operating Officer with Quanta Services Australia in 2023.
Apprenticeships are offered in:
- Electrical Apprenticeship: Certificate III in Electrotechnology Systems Electrician (High-Voltage).
- Transmission Lineworker Apprenticeship: Certificate III in ESI – Transmission Overhead.

Eligibility requirements
To qualify for a CPP Apprenticeship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Be preferably 18 years or older at time of employment
- Hold a valid driver’s license (minimum of “P” plates)
- Have completed Year 11 (with a preference to having completed Year 12)
- Pass a pre-employment medical examination; and
- Be willing to work away from home, including weekends.
- Literacy and numeracy test
